Math Teacher Job Description

Supervisors: Head of School and Associate Head of School

Status:  10-month Employment Agreement

Hours: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Teacher to join our esteemed faculty. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mathematics, a commitment to Catholic education, and the ability to inspire students to excel in their studies.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective math lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum
  • Set and model high academic, behavioral, and service expectations for students, parents, and colleagues
  • Provide individualized support to address students’ unique learning needs 
  • Integrate technology for a 21st-century learning environment
  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive learning environment to promote respect and success for all
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with all Donovan community members
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Donovan experience
  • Model a commitment to lifelong learning through ongoing professional development
  • Attend required school events and meetings, including some evenings and weekends
  • Maintain accurate and timely attendance and grade records
  • Demonstrate stewardship in the use of material and financial resources
  • Embody Catholic values and promote the spiritual development of students from diverse religious backgrounds
  • Adhere to all policies in the Student-Family Handbook and the Faculty/Staff Handbook
  • Support the mission and vision of Monsignor Donovan Catholic High School 
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the Head of School or Associate Head of School 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Current Georgia teaching certification or can attain within two years
  • Previous experience teaching mathematics at the high school or postsecondary level
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Complete Virtus training and maintain active certification 
  • Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required

Bus/Van Driver

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
● Drive school vans for sporting events, activities, service projects, as needed
● Drive school bus for sporting events, activities, service projects, as needed
● Performs other duties as assigned by the Head of School, Associate Head of School, or
Director of Facilities

Qualifications/Requirements:
● Clean driving record
● CDL with passenger endorsement and/or school bus endorsement
● Adhere to Code of Ethical Conduct
● Completion of background checks and Safe Environment training prior to employment
● Completion of drug test
● Previous high school driving experience preferred

Substitute Teacher

Substitute teacher
We are accepting applications for substitute teachers on an as-needed, flexible basis. Substitutes will serve in classrooms for 9th-12th grades. Certified or retired teachers are preferred. Substitute training is not required.
